Please pray for Burma!!!
Tomorrow (3/8) is global day of prayer for Burma (Myanmar). If you have been following along in these posts you probably remember that our little Muaysai Lilabeth is Burmese. Her parents came over from Myanmar and gave birth to her in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The more I learn about the conflict in Myanmar the more I realize that they were probably fleeing a hostile situation. The Shan and Karenni states form the eastern border of Myanmar (closest to Chiang Mai) and are considered high conflict areas. The religious, ethnic and political divides seem to sow countless deaths while striking fear in the lives of villagers in these areas they are trying to control. This is a feud that has continued for decades and does not seem to be any closer to an end.
